One of the most rewarding parts of my Army career was seeing soldiers and officers I had mentored grow in confidence, become more competent and develop into effective leaders. Today, I get that same satisfaction from property auction mentorship. Conor Gallagher’s journey is a particularly rewarding example.

From Army leadership to property auction mentorship

Whether in a training environment or the battalion, the people I mentored knew they could turn to me for advice, just as I relied on others for counsel throughout my own career.

I value that relationship just as much when mentoring property investors. Alongside the practical lessons in property auctions and distressed assets, I enjoy being a sounding board as people work towards their goals. Sometimes someone needs help thinking through an opportunity. At other times, they need the confidence to ask questions, challenge their assumptions and make a considered decision.

Conor Gallagher’s property investment journey

Conor joined me at the beginning of his property investment journey. He now owns multiple properties, purchased substantially below market value with high yields.

The progress that means most to me goes beyond the properties themselves. It is seeing someone develop the knowledge and confidence to explain their experience, answer questions and contribute to the development of other investors.

On Thursday 15 October 2026 at 7pm, Conor will lead Module 7 of my Property Auction Professional Mentorship: The Deal Den.

The Deal Den: sharing practical experience

Conor will share his experience and take questions from a mentorship group that includes lawyers, accountants, doctors, business owners, film producers, actors and experienced professional property investors and landlords.

That makes for a valuable exchange of perspectives. People arrive with different professional skills and different levels of property experience. Hearing from someone who started at the beginning of his own investment journey gives the group a practical example to discuss and learn from.

Watching Conor develop the knowledge and confidence to lead that conversation is immensely satisfying. Quite honestly, it is one of the highlights of my property teaching career.

Well done, Conor. I am looking forward to Thursday.

My aim is to help people become competent, disciplined and independent property investors. Buying below market value involves preparation, research and judgment. Mentorship gives people a framework for developing those skills, putting their learning into practice and discussing decisions as their experience grows.

For me, the most rewarding outcome is seeing a mentee become confident enough to contribute their own experience to the group. Conor’s forthcoming Deal Den session is a moment I am proud to share.
